Registration Consent:

Believe in Music Week is assumed to be an event for adults only (as a result the specific of age of registrants is not collected), and accessing the event requires the assumption of certain liabilities, risks, and agreement to share registration information with NAMM, exhibitors and other third-parties as outlined in the registration process and by agreeing to our Terms of Service (governing use of the Believe in Music Week online platform) and Privacy Notice (governing data collection and use practices for the online platform).

The Believe in Music Week online platform is powered by Swapcard’s content sharing and networking app and website. Please review Swapcard’s separately provided Swapcard Terms of Use for its platform.

Collection of Data:

As a digital platform, Believe in Music offers a new opportunity for brands, buyers, influencers, media and end users to connect, with helpful follow ups based on interests and opt-ins. Marketers will have access to a dashboard to track interaction, rate leads and export contact information of interested parties.

GDPR:

Registrants from 28 EU countries along with major nations that observe GDPR have a variable consent screen, in compliance with data protection and storage regulations including GDPR, and other data policies.

Further, both NAMM and Swapcard guarantees that its sub-processors who may collect and process personal data on its behalf as part of the provision of the services implement the appropriate technical and organizational methods to ensure compliance with the GDPR and more generally with personal data regulations.

Music License:

To support our global artist community, NAMM supports all laws outlining use of intellectual property, music, licensing and use of copyrighted works.

When creating content for Believe in Music Week please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Ensure you own or validly possesses the right to make, use, perform, sell and display any patented products, copyrighted works, trademarks, service marks and trade names (collectively, “Intellectual Property”), to promote content, activities, and affiliated events
  • Secure any and all necessary licenses or consents for (a) any performances, displays or other uses of copyrighted works, trademarks or patented inventions or designs and (b) any use of any name, likeness, signature, voice or other impression, or other intellectual property owned by others
  • Do not use any musical work protected by copyright to be staged, produced, or otherwise performed, via either “live” or mechanical means, by or on your behalf at Event or any Event-related activity, unless you have previously obtained written permission from the copyright owner or the copyright owner’s designee (e.g., ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC) for this use
  • Accept full and complete responsibility for the content your provide and all obligations under any agreement permitting the use of the music, including but not limited to all obligations to report data and to pay royalty fees
  • NAMM is relying upon the above representation and warranty and does not assume the obligation to monitor or stop the uses and displays of intellectual property at the Event
