Excel to XML Wizard

Gathering required data to generate industry standard XML document can be a cumbersome process regarding of the size of the company. The purpose of the Excel to Xml Wizard is to assist with collecting required data. Although the tool is intended for vendors with small number of items, it can also be used to generate a test xml for a large corporation.

The Excel template is broken up into multiple sheets each containing part of data. Required information is color coded blue, and optional information is color coded green.

Master List

Open your template file and go to the sheet/tab labeled 'MasterList'. Each row in this sheet will correspond to exactly one unique product. You will need to enter the following information for each product:

Special Notes:

  • Prefix all BarcodeID's with ' (single quote) to avoid Excel's automatic conversion to scientific notation as well as dropping leading zero. A single quote is removed during the conversion process.
  • Common types of barcodes:
    UPC (GTIN-12) code is 12 characters long. Valid for USA and Canada.
    EAN (GTIN-13) code is 13 character long. Valid in Europe, Asia, Australia, USA, Canada.

Containers

Open your template file and go to the sheet/tab labeled 'Containers'. Containers define shipping units for your product. You may have multiple ways to ship your product. Common shipping units are EACH (just one), CASE (a bunch), etc. For each product in your master list, you can define an entry in the container tab ( and ContainerBarcodes tab).

Open your template file and go to the sheet/tab labeled 'ContainerBarcodes'. You will need to enter the following information for each product:

Special Notes:

Bullets

Open your template file and go to the sheet/tab labeled 'MI-Bullets'.
MI-Bullets is optional, however, if provided SupplierItemId and at least one item bullet are required.

You can provide up to ten bullets per item. If you have less than ten bullets for selected item, just keep rest of them
blank. Also, it is recommended to html-encode any special characters in the body of each
