Be ready for some ukulele fireworks when the Museum of Making Music presents the unique all-star jazz ukulele trio, LEFT COAST UKE, featuring internationally celebrated musicians Abe Lagrimas Jr., Jeff Linsky and Jennifer Leitham. This is ukulele like you’ve never heard before!
Each member of this versatile trio individually enjoys an impressive concert and recording career. ABE LAGRIMAS is not only an established international star on the ukulele, he is also an accomplished jazz drummer and vibraphonist. A graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Abe is author of the first ever ukulele instructional book and curriculum, “ Ukulele Ensemble, Beginning Ukulele" published by Consonus Music Institute. For over four decades, JEFFLINSKY has been performing as a guitarist in many of the world’s finest concert halls, playing in jazz festivals, pop music concerts and featured with symphony orchestras. Also an award-winning composer, Jeff is celebrated both for his versatility and remarkable improvisational skill. Guitar Player Magazine writes: “Linsky’s talent is the stuff guitarists’ dreams are made of.” Legendary bassist JENNIFER LEITHAM has performed and recorded with countless music stars around the world, including Mel Tormé, Doc Severinsen, George Shearing, Peggy Lee and K.D. Lang. She is a respected composer, arranger, vocalist and bandleader, and has released several albums of her own. Named one of the 50 most interesting people in Los Angeles for 2016 by LA Weekly, Jennifer is the subject of the multiple award-winning documentary “I Stand Corrected.”
With Abe and Jeff on tenor ukulele and Jennifer on bass ukulele, Left Coast Uke combines its members’ formidable improvisational skills with a colorful repertoire of music from around the world, presenting a highly entertaining show you don’t want to miss.
