Bio for The Luongo Ukulele Experience Ensemble Now in their 4th year, the current ensemble is made up of 17 performers who come from California, Oregon and Nevada. They travel to Reno, Nevada each month throughout the year to rehearse and with the assistance of on-line, video tutorials and a commitment to independent practice are striving to be a group that models life-long learning, embraces challenges, and who continues to evolve as musicians and performers. Past accomplishments have included multiple appearances on the main stages of the Reno and Palm Springs Ukulele Festivals, and an appearance at the 48th Annual Hawaiian International Ukulele Festival which was part of a 7-day, 10 concert tour of Honolulu. The ensemble was honored and grateful for the opportunity to be part of the 2019 Winter NAMM Show! Most recently, they completed a 7 day, Pacific Northwest tour in June 2019. Luongo Ukulele Experience: Beyond Hum and Strum! This ‘Experience’ provides the opportunity for adult learners to consolidate and improve their ukulele playing skills and to develop music literacy, musicianship, and embrace the challenge of striving for excellence in musical performance. There is nothing like this program anywhere else in the ukulele world! Musical Director, Peter Luongo extracts musical and performance skills beyond what the participants thought possible. It provides participants the opportunity to unleash their inner-musician. The result: A group of adults, most well over fifty years of age, performing at the largest ukulele festivals in the country!
