- The Nevada Superintendent of Public Instruction has called upon a group of stakeholders from across the state to serve as an Advisory Group in the development of a state education plan. With the passage of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) at the federal level Nevada now has unprecedented control over its PreK-12 education vision. The Advisory Group - composed of parents, teachers, principals, superintendents, students , and business groups - will come together to outline a path forward tailored to meeting the unique needs of Nevada students. Appropriate personnel at Clark County School District and Washoe County School District, representing the vast number of arts education programs in the state, have been contacted regarding the work of several of the ESSA committees. Outreach to the Elko County School District is also being planned. A statewide notification system is in the process of being established to educate all to the ESSA opportunities. In addition, as the ESSA Plan is presented throughout the state, we will look to the members of the arts education communities to attend these meetings.

An Action Alert will be going out to members of the greater Nevada Arts Education community to engage participants in the review process of Nevada's ESSA plan.
