So, You Want to Start a Nonprofit Organization? The Nuts and Bolts of What to Do and How to Do It

If you have a strong mission, forming a nonprofit is not difficult but there are a lot of steps to getting it right: incorporation, IRS determination, initial set of bylaws, board development and officers, state charity registrations, tax exempt certificates, separation of profit/nonprofit identities within the same “organization”, etc. There are some common procedures (federal) and then different state requirements which will be explored.
