John Kagerer is known as the Horn Doctor up in Anchorage, Alaska. With a very interesting background that includes welding and watch repair, John combined his skills to become one of the sought-after band instrument repair technicians in the state. After attending the Allied School, its founder, Bob Getzen, helped John find a job. Mr. Getzen suggested a job in Michigan and later told John about the need for a repair tech in Alaska. John took to the culture and the people and soon realized there was a big need for instrument repair, particularly in Anchorage. His repair shop expanded to become a retail store for band and orchestra as well as string and combo instruments.
