Arnie Lazarus

Arnie Lazarus invented what is largely regarded as the first three dimensional transducer for musical instruments in 1969.  That same year he established a company that echoed the name of his product, FRAP.  FRAP, or flat response audio pickup, was created for use on acoustic instruments.  He also created an innovative wind instrument pick up using piezoresistance technology, which benifited musicians such as Eddie Harris, Roger Glenn and Herbie Mann (among others).  This pickup was successfully used on the flute, saxophone and other instruments. And this is only the beginning of a most interesting story!
