Barry Trobaugh
Barry Trobaugh gives great credit to his childhood music teachers and band directors for the passion and love he has for being a music educator. After receiving his bachelors degree from Memphis State University, he returned to earn his masters in school administration as he felt the latter would allow him the opportunity to support the music program at a different level. His first teaching position was in Owensboro, Kentucky, which was made extra special because while teaching there he met his wife. Then a ten year stay in rural Arkansas was followed by his final band director's role at Mumford High School in Mumford, Tennessee from 1994 until his retirement in 2021. Along the way he developed a strong relationship with the staff at Amro Music in Memphis, who helped support him and his students with instruments and services as well as providing a sounding board and meaningful advice. Even in retirement Barry has found ways to give back to Amro by providing advice and council as they continue to serve the school music programs throughout their four-state area.
