Bill Sapsis

Bill Sapsis has been rigging for theater and live events since the early 1970s. He was a welder and helped with set designs in both Philadelphia and New York and in 1981, he formed Sapsis Rigging to provide specialized support for opera and musical productions. He realized the need for safety training and industry standards so he began his association with ESTA. In 2018, Bill was among the ESTA trainers who offered training classes at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, the first such partnership. During his NAMM interview, Bill provided a very interesting historical overview of the growth and development of rigging.
