Bob Calhoun

Bob Calhoun grew up in the Bay Area and discovered his love for music after listening to some of his family’s record collection. He decided to pick up the bass and bought his first one at a garage sale – a Fender Musicmaster that he still has today! Bob also has a love for writing and his two passions intersected when he started interviewing bands that would play in and around San Francisco. He also went on to write for Bass Player Magazine and interviewed great musicians such as Randy Jackson and Glen Hughes. Bob recently wrote the book Shattering Conventions: Commerce, Cosplay and Conflict on the Expo Floor, which takes a deep dive into the world of trade shows.
