Bob Kane
Bob Kane was born and raised in Elkhart, Indiana, known as the band instrument capitol of the world. He played cornet in school and in fact it was his high school band director who told Bob of an opening at Buescher Band Instrument Company. Bob began working in the customer service department but transferred to production control before leaving the company to work at Selmer. He was hired by Charlie Bickel and soon after joined the growing sales staff. Bob traveled five states including New York, where he stayed for 13 years before returning to Elkhart, thanks to an offer by Ken Ingram. Bob came back into the office at a time right after Selmer purchased the Buescher Company and he became product manager for both the Buescher and Bach lines. Bob also built the export department of the Selmer Company before being made Vice President of Sales.
