Caito Marcondes

Caito Marcondes has played the rhythm of Brazil his entire life. As a result of years of playing and research, he has become one of the world’s leading experts of Afro-Latin rhythm and drumming. His compositions, such as “Porta do Templo,” have expanded the sounds of Brazil around the world. His work with Tracy Silverman has resulted in the “North Meets South” series of recordings. Originally released in 2001, the series has been reviewed by music critics as showcasing the traditions of Latin drumming while incorporating Caito’s unique style. Caito was interviewed during PASIC in 2010, where he shared his passionate love for the art of drumming and its rich and important history.
