Cynthia Hoover

Cynthia Hoover has devoted her career to the history of musical instrument making in America as curator at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. Her love of the subject has resulted in many important exhibits and publications on musical instruments since her arrival at the Smithsonian in 1961. Cynthia worked on the Piano 300 exhibition, which was sponsored in part by NAMM. For the anniversary of the piano she researched materials from the music industry and included several important facets of the industry in the exhibit including music retailing and music manufacturing.
