David Schwartz

David Schwartz was very active in the pro audio and recording industry in the 1970s when he had an idea. Since the era was filled with technological advances, why not highlight the happenings within the engineering world with a monthly magazine? And so, Mix Magazine was born, its first issue coming out in 1977. David added special profiles of the creative engineers and producers to the publication, which also tracked news and innovative products. David also came up with the original idea of the TEC Awards to provide recognition to those people and products that were advancing the record industry. In 2011, David produced the H.O.T. Zone at the NAMM Show in Anaheim to provide “hands on training” to those working in the pro audio industry.
