Delores Rhoads
Delores Rhoads began teaching music in 1939. Seventy years later when she was interviewed by NAMM, she was still teaching. After World War II Delores and her husband opened a small teaching studio and retail shop in North Hollywood, California, called Musonia. Over the decades she taught thousands of students including her two sons. Her youngest son, Randy, taught music before and after becoming a legendary rock guitarist during the 1970s and early 1980s before his untimely death. Delores’ older son, Kelly, is a classical composer who taught along side his mother nearly every day for forty years. Mrs. Rhoads passed away in the fall of 2015 and the age of 95.
