Eddie Ray

Eddie Ray was the A&R man for Capitol-Tower Records and Imperial Records for many years.  As a result he was instrumental in the careers of such artists as Fats Domino, Sandy Nelson, Pink Floyd and Ricky Nelson, among others.  Eddie was also a songwriter whose songs have been performed and recorded by the likes of Elvis Presley and The Charms.  Country music icon, Red Foley, had a hit record with Eddie's "Hearts of Stone" as did the Fontaine Sisters.  Eddie continued to promote records until his retirement, at which point he was asked to head the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame, which he has to great success.  The Hall, located in Kannapolis, honors those related to the music industry by inductions and special events.  The museum includes a plaque for each inductee as well as many instruments, concert clothes and photographs of those inducted into the Hall of Fame.
