Glenda Mims

Glenda Mims was hired in 1978 in the purchasing department of the Greenwood, Mississippi, Baldwin plant. She remained with the company when it was sold and the Greenwood plant was closed in 2001. Then she was transferred to Trumann, Arkansas, where she remained for a few more years. Her delightful interview provided a wonderful overview of the Greenwood plant’s purchasing goals and where many of the raw materials were bought. She also added details about the work ethic and family feelings that she contributed to Harold Smith, who ran the plant. Glenda was also a great resource for the NAMM team as we sought to interview factory workers both from Greenwood and from the Trumann plant for the Oral History program.
