Howie Mendelson
Howie Mendelson played the recorder and trombone in school but, like so many of his generation, picked up the guitar when he heard the Beatles. Unlike most, Howie didn't just see the Fab Four on television, he saw them perform live at Shea Station in New York in 1965 and again in 1966! Nine years later, Jerry Ash hired Howie to work in their Brooklyn store. He rose to leadership, becoming general manager of that store and opened the Queens location as general manager, where he stayed for 12 years. Since then he has been working on the regional level and as Vice President of stores for the chain, a job that brings out the passion of the industry he has always been a part of.
