Jürgen Voigt

Jürgen Voigt comes from a long tradition of musical instrument makers in the region of Markneukirchen starting as early as 1756. His grandfather and great-grandfather were bow makers and because of demand and to diversify, the family also started to make brass instruments. Beginning 1962, Jürgen learned the craft from his uncle, Horst Voigt, and then started working for B&S Blechblas und Signal-Instrumenten Fabrik Markneukirchen. In 1988, Jürgen established his own workshop crafting trumpets, trombones, flugelhorns, and historical instruments. His daughter, Kerstin Voigt, after an apprenticeship in her father’s workshop is now managing the company with 30 employees in the 10th generation of musical instrument builders.
