Jerry Michelsen

Jerry Michelsen started playing the piano when he was four years old. His father worked for the Federal Aviation Agency, so Jerry moved many times during his childhood, but never stopped taking piano lessons. He went on to study classical piano at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During this time, Jerry was really getting into Rock and Roll, and wanted to apply that style to his piano playing. It was seeing Mike Smith with the Dave Clark 5 playing an electric piano that really gave him a bug for rock, and since then he’s been playing everything from rock and blues to jazz. Today, Jerry teaches piano at the American Music Exchange.
