Joyce Glantz
Joyce Glantz is the proud torch carrier of her brother’s musical legacy! Ronnie Singer (1928-1953) was a pioneer of the electric guitar in jazz combos and big band orchestras during the 1940s and early ‘50s. During his short career he gained an incredible reputation as an innovative musician, and as a result was an influence on several musicians to follow. Joyce, who has proudly kept her brother's Gibson guitar, spoke during her NAMM Oral History interview about his passion for music as a young boy and the early days of his career in jazz during the emergence of Bebop. Her love and devotion have allowed so many of us to better know and appreciate the musical contributions of her brother.
