Larry Barnes
Larry Barnes recalls his early childhood growing up in his father's music store in Leavenworth, Kansas just outside of Kansas City. The store, which was known as the Leavenworth Music Store, opened in 1955, closed when his dad retired in 1985, and never had a phone! The family home was right next door to the store, so if anyone needed to contact the store for any reason, they just called the house phone. Larry went on to serve as District Sales Manager for Fender for 36 years from 1979 until his retirement in 2015! In addition to all of the new products he introduced and the miles he racked up on his cars, Larry developed lifelong friends with the dealers he called on, which remain valuable memories to him to this day.
