Leo Saleh
Leo Saleh was the very first person from Indonesia to be included in the NAMM Oral History program, which was an honor for us! His father enjoyed playing piano and Leo recalls music all around him as he grew up. Leo’s sister began teaching piano and had more than 80 students when their father opened a small music shop to help support the teaching. Their family also had a consumer electronic company, which was together with the music shop for several years. In more recent years the two stores were separated so Leo’s older brother could run the electronic store and Leo would run the music store. Another brother opened a guitar making company, making it music all in the family.
