Les Brown

This audio only interview was conducted for a radio program by Dan Del Fiorentino and donated to the NAMM Oral History program: Les Brown and His Band of Renown was among the most popular orchestras during the swing era. His recording of "Sentimental Journey" (with vocals by Doris Day) was often considered the homecoming theme song of World War II. The band's countless performances with Bob Hope's USO shows forever placed Les in the hearts of millions as did his string of hit recordings including his theme song "Leap Frog."
