Mickey Hart

Mickey Hart is the noted drummer of the Grateful Dead who has helped define rock drumming since the 1960s. His passion for the art form of percussion led him to write a series of books and countless articles on the history of drumming. His activities have helped popularize drum circles and music therapy programs that have benefited from the use of drums. Mickey began working with Remo Belli and other promoters of the benefits of music making as early as the 1970s, ahead of most other such efforts. Mickey has also been active in encouraging other young players with a series of clinics and special performances such as World Drumming programs in several countries.
