Ndugu Chancler

Ndugu Chancler cut his teeth as a jazz drummer but later expanded his scope to include the blues, pop, soul, and funk. As a jazz drummer, he worked with an incredible line up of artists over the years including Miles Davis, George Benson, Herbie Hancock, Gerald Wilson, Frank Sinatra, Thelonious Monk, Weather Report, and Freddie Hubbard. To demonstrate his great flexibility as a drummer, consider that list of jazz giants and the fact that you are hearing Ndugu on Michael Jackson's smash hit "Billie Jean." Other artists he has worked with include John Lee Hooker, Carlos Santana, Patrice Rushen, The Temptations, and Tina Turner.
