Neal Pogue

Neal Pogue has a special touch when it comes to being a recording engineer. Perhaps his talents and skills can be traced back to childhood when he began playing the drums. He was trained at Sound Mastering Recordings in Los Angeles and gained the attention of Randy Jackson who asked Neal to serve as the assistant engineer for the album Randy & the Gypsy’s (1989). Projects with Bobby Brown followed, which led to Neal moving to Atlanta, GA. While there he began his long association with Outkast as well as Goodie Mob and TLC. For TLC, Neal engineered their album CrazySexyCool (1994) which included the 11-time platinum single “Waterfall.” He joined Outkast to engineer their second album ATLiens (1996), which included their hit “Elevators.” This was the first of many projects with the group including their Grammy award-winning album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below (2003). Neal also formed Fulton Yard Unlimited with Walter McKennie (which allowed him to worked with En Vogue, Earth Wind & Fire and others) as well as his own label, Copper Baby Music (which released recordings by Cherokee and Jaheim and many more).
