Oliver C. Brown
Oliver C. Brown was a member of KC and the Sunshine Band when they recorded their big disco hits that helped define an era of popular music. Oliver’s percussion instruments can be heard on “Shake Your Booty,” “Boogie Shoes,” That’s the Way I Like It” and “Get Down Tonight.” While influenced by Latin rhythms on the bongos and congas, Oliver added elements of rock music to his playing, which fit in nicely with the recording studio session work he sought in order to launch his career. The studio work led to a number of recordings and live performance opportunities including recording “All the Way” with The Whispers and an album with jazz singer Nancy Wilson.
