Reggie Young is known throughout the world as one of the great studio session players referred to as the Memphis Boys.  He played guitar on thousands of recordings as a session player in Memphis and later Nashville during the 1960s, 70s and 80s - turning out hit recordings that forever changed popular music.  The Memphis Boys became the name of a group of session players at American Studio in Memphis, which included Bobby Emmons, Gene Chrisman, Mike Leech, Bobby Wood and Reggie.  Reggie’s introduction to the studios came after forming a popular group with Elvis Presley’s bass player called the Bill Black Trio.  After several hits and a long touring schedule with Bill Black, Reggie was offered a chance to work in the studios.  His many guitar solos include the now classic on Dobie Gray’s recording of “Drift Away.”
