Rick Wakeman
Rick Wakeman was a powerful force in the development of progressive rock thanks in large part to his keyboard musicianship, songwriting and his deep passion for electronic musical instruments. His influence as a keyboardist can’t be fully expressed; however, most of the products he used on stage and on his recordings were highly sought by British and American musicians alike. Among the instruments he helped popularize, and in several cases helped design or modify, were the Minimoog, the Mellotron and the BiroTron. Rick was also one of the most suggested people to be included in the NAMM Oral History program and thanks is extended to the many who made his wonderful interview a reality in the fall of 2013.
