Rob Walker

Rob Walker has been a leader in the global music products marketing that seemed to shift into high gear in the mid ‘90s when he was CEO of the Australian Music Association (AMA). Rob was instrumental in growing the Association’s influence and valuable relationships and creating programs and special events geared towards increasing the number of active music makers in Australia. Several of his programs were showcased at the Global Economic Summit in 1995. NAMM CEO, Joe Lamond, hired Rob as Director of Market Development as well as Executive Director of the American Music Conference (AMC) in 2001. After several years with NAMM, Rob returned home to Australia to his family and was elected to the board of the AMA and then served as Chairman for two years. He has continued his industry career with Australia’s largest music retailer, Allans Music, where he served as National Marketing Manager until 2012. To complete the circle he returned to the AMA as executive officer in 2013 and rejuvenated the trade show, established Australian Musician online and created more end-user events such as the Melbourne Guitar Show.
