Robin Galison

Robin Galison is the founder and president of Music Gift located in Boca Raton, Florida. The company began as a division of the Edwin F. Kalmus Music Publishers, which her husband’s family started. The publishing company was founded in 1926 by Edwin Kalmus originally as the United States Agent for Universal which was owned by Edwin’s brother, Alfred Kalmus. In the early 1950's Lawrence Galison married Joan Kalmus and joined the company and business grew swiftly. Joan and Larry's son Leon joined the company in 1974 and after the sale of The Kalmus Instrumental Catalog in 1976 to Belwin Mills, (now a part of Alfred Music) the Orchestra division expanded. Leon was active in the business and often attended RPMDA occasionally bringing his wife, Robin. She noticed the need that retailers had to carry music themed gifts so in 2006 she formed The Music Gifts Company. She has grown the gift business over the years by expanding her dealer base and offering a larger selection of products, including many she designed herself.
