Tom Szerencse

Tom Szerencse worked his way up to an Engineering Group Manager overseeing Crown International’s design prototyping efforts. In the mid 80’s his team worked with the Marketing department to define new products that would solve customer requirements. Then later he moved to manufacturing as a Sustaining Engineer, where he remedied manufacturing issues on the floor increasing the product quality and value. Tom helped with the company’s participation at various NAMM shows which is ironic because in retirement as head of the committee for the Crown employee picnic, Tom played a significant role in the capturing of nearly 20 interviews for the NAMM Oral History program, including his own. He worked for Crown from 1969 until 2016 on several products and projects, including the MA5K and MA10k amplifier families. Along the way he made a lifetime of friends, many of which attended the employee picnic.
