Trumpet Vignette

Having a very long history, the trumpet dates all the way back to at least 1500 BC.  Trumpets were used in the early days as a way to signal battle or hunting. Today they are used in several different genres, ranging from classical to popular music. The most common trumpet used is the Bb trumpet; however, there are various others including the C trumpet, Eb trumpet, flugelhorn, piccolo trumpet, and cornet. This vignette touches on several important figures in the trumpet world: Arturo Sandoval, Doc Severinsen, Snooky Young, Bobby Shew, and Wayne Jackson. They share their thoughts and feelings of making it as a trumpet player.
