The 35th TEC Awards Announces Call for Entries
- Annual awards show to honor best in pro audio products, projects, and luminaries at The 2020 NAMM Show-
Fresh off a multitude of pro audio product debuts, new innovations and a celebration of technical and creative achievements, the NAMM TEC Awards council has announced a call for entries to be honored at The 35th annual NAMM TEC Awards. Companies are encouraged to enter their products and/or projects in one of 23 Technical Achievement and eight Creative Achievement categories to be considered for recognition at https://www.tecawards.org/call-for-entries
Entries will be reviewed by a group of industry experts from all facets of the pro audio and sound production industries to create the final slate of nominees. Final nominees are those products and projects that, in the opinion of the nominating panel, represent superior accomplishment in their respective fields. The nominees for all NAMM TEC Award categories will be announced at a special event at the 2019 Summer NAMM Show in Nashville, TN (July 18-20). Registration for Summer NAMM will open in April.
Presented annually during The NAMM Show by The NAMM Foundation, the NAMM TEC Awards recognize the individuals, companies and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings, live performances, films, television, video games, and multi-media. In 2019, Peter Frampton was presented with the Les Paul Innovation Award, an honor which recognizes musical artists whose work has exemplified the creative application of audio technology, and the Hall of Fame Award, recognizing audio pioneers, as well as the music industry’s most accomplished producers and audio technicians, was presented to Skywalker Sound’s Leslie Ann Jones. Earlier in the day, historic audio inventions were inducted into NAMM’s TECnology Hall of Fame. A complete summary of the awards can be found at TECAwards.org.
The NAMM TEC Awards will return to The 2020 NAMM Show on Saturday, January 18 in the Hilton Anaheim Pacific Ballroom. Nominees and their colleagues and friends are invited to attend a networking happy hour, dinner, great entertainment and the celebration of the NAMM TEC Awards winners. Ticket sales for the annual event will open in September.
