NAMM Announces 2010 NAMM University Schedule

NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants, today announced its NAMM University educational session schedule for the upcoming 2010 NAMM Show, which takes place January 14-17, 2010 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Kicking the show off Thursday morning will be a special 5th anniversary edition of the popular NAMM University Breakfast Session “Breakfast of Champions” where NAMM president and CEO, Joe Lamond will welcome champions of business and special surprise guests for a series of up-close and personal discussions.

On Friday morning, NAMM University will present “The Post-Crisis Consumer,” delving into the changes in consumer behavior following the recent economic downturn. This session will be presented by John Gerzema, Chief Insights Officer at Young & Rubicam Group, a leading advertising/marketing agency.

Saturday, retail expert and author, George Whalin will offer suggestions to retailers about how to fine tune their businesses as part of the NAMM University Breakfast Session “Strategies for a Changing Retail World.” And Sunday, Downbeat/Music Inc. Publisher Frank Alkyer is back with a panel of experts to rate the “Best in Show” products that retailers must see and stock at this year’s NAMM.

Also, NAMM University will bring even more learning opportunities through the all-new Hands-On Training or H.O.T. Zone on Level 2 of the Convention Center.  The H.O.T. Zone is designed to create custom solutions targeted especially to professionals in the recording, live sound, House of Worship, and stage and lighting industries. More than 15 industry partners, publishers, organizations and associations will offer a series of FREE special training seminars, face-to-face meetings, networking opportunities, and one-on-one mentoring to strengthen the knowledge base of industry colleagues.
