Summer tradeshow returns to the Live Music Capital of the World after successful 2006 event featuring networking, sales strategies and live music
NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, today announced the schedule of activities for its upcoming Summer NAMM, which will be held in Austin, Texas, July 27–29, 2007.
The event will kick off Thursday at 7 p.m. with the annual Pre-Show Party at The Hang, featuring free beer, free food and live music performed by NAMM Member company bands.
On Friday, NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond will be delivering the annual State of the Industry Address, along with special guests to lead a discussion about the current climate of the industry, as well as the upcoming trends, challenges and opportunities. That evening, Weekend Warrior bands from around the United States will be vying for the title of best corporate band in America for 2007, at the FORTUNE Battle of the Corporate Bands Semi-Finals.
A Town Hall Meeting will be held Saturday for NAMM Members to come together and talk about the changes in the world of music making. The event is an ideal time to learn about opinions, ideas and options.
Sunday will feature the annual Best in Show event, where Music Inc. Publisher Frank Alkyer and a panel of gear experts pick out the hottest finds on the show floor, and point out the products retailers need to see before leaving Austin.
NAMM University will fill all three days of 2007 Summer NAMM with free, information-packed “how-to” sessions held right on the show floor every 30 minutes. With sessions taught by industry professionals who have firsthand knowledge about the challenges music products retailers face, attendees will learn strategies and tactics that can help them improve store practices.
The first-ever exhibitor training sessions will offer store owners and staff the opportunity to gain product knowledge from the real experts—the manufacturers themselves—about key selling points to help make the sale.
All of these activities in combination with Austin’s world-renowned reputation for being the Live Music Capital of the World is a summertime package that mixes business with pleasure. For updates on Summer NAMM 2007, check
