Turnaround Arts and The NAMM Foundation will implement a research project to explore the impact, value and efficacy of The NAMM Foundation’s investment in Turnaround Arts schools’ music departments. Since Turnaround Arts’ creation in 2012, The NAMM Foundation has contributed more than $550,000 in music education expansion grants to 70 Turnaround Arts schools nationwide. Turnaround Arts is a program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

The NAMM Foundation has announced that singer-songwriter Jackson Browne will receive the prestigious Les Paul Innovation Award at the 33rd Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards (NAMM TEC Awards), being held Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Anaheim, CA.

Pensado’s Place, the hour-long weekly web series co-hosted by legendary mix engineer Dave Pensado (Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey, Elton John, Michael Jackson and others) and show creator, Herb Trawick, will host the first-ever Pensado’s NAMM JAM at The 2018 NAMM Show (January 25-28) in Anaheim, California.

At the 33rd Annual NAMM Technical Excellence and Creativity Awards (TEC Awards), eight products and technologies inspired by a series of global sound pioneers will find their place in audio history when they are inducted into NAMM’s prestigious TECnology Hall of Fame. The ceremony, and later the awards show, will take place Saturday, January 27, as part of The 2018 NAMM Show.

The NAMM Foundation and Collings Guitars have announced a memorial fund in honor of legendary luthier and longtime NAMM member, Bill Collings. Collings was the founder and leader of Collings Guitars, a maker of acoustic, electric, and archtop guitars, and mandolins; instruments that are world-renowned for their quality craftsmanship, elegance and sonic personalities, inspired legions of professional and amateur musicians, as well as emerging luthiers.

Make Music Winter, a free, outdoor music-making celebration held each Dec. 21 in New York City, today announced its full lineup of over a dozen participatory musical parades across the five boroughs. The all-day musical celebration on the winter solstice brings together New Yorkers of all ages, musical abilities and genres to sing, play, march and dance their way across streets, parks, plazas and other public spaces citywide.

The official 17th Annual Parnelli Awards ballot is now online and open to voting from subscribers of Projection, Lights and Staging News and Front of House magazines. The winners in each category will be announced at the Parnelli Awards on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at The NAMM Show in Anaheim, California.
