NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants, announced today that it will join the Coalition for Music Education in Canada in its sixth annual Music Monday event May 3, 2010, to demonstrate the importance of music education programs throughout North America, and to celebrate the many proven benefits of playing music for people of all ages.

Elena Mannes and Margaret Smilow, director and producer (respectively), of the two-hour documentary--developed with major funding from the National Science Foundation--were awarded the Grand Prix at Pariscience 2009, an international science film festival.
Creating a common vocabulary for a business as wide and diverse as the international music products industry isn’t easy. But that’s the primary goal of the Ad-Hoc Technology Committee formed by the NAMM Board of Directors in 2006.
