NAMM Foundation Strengthens the Music Industry’s Future During the 2016 NAMM Show
Programs including the President’s Innovation Award, Generation Next, and Music Education Days help college music students and music educators succeed
College students studying for careers in music may now apply for the President’s Innovation Award. The award offers music industry leaders-in-training the opportunity to attend the 2016 NAMM Show by providing $600 to offset travel costs. Award recipients will join the global music industry in Anaheim, CA to experience the show and attend Generation Next. Music educators are also invited to attend the NAMM Show as part of the program Music Education Days.
At the NAMM Show, President’s Innovation Award winners will participate in Generation Next programming tailored specifically to students studying music business or music education. Students are given special access to all four days of the show, January 21 to 24, with mentoring, networking, and one-of-a-kind inspirational experiences. College students and faculty interested in attending Generation Next or Music Education Days can register for the programs starting September 30, 2015.
“Generation Next and Music Education Days offer one-of-a-kind exposure for the future leaders of our industry,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM. “The NAMM Show is the perfect global platform to expose young people, who are passionate about music, to the many opportunities in the music industry. This is critically important for us all, the future depends on our ability to attract the best and brightest talent into our musical ecosystem.”
Students interested in the President’s Innovation Award must submit an application by September 30, 2015. Awards will be announced on November 1, 2015.
