NAMM Welcomes New Director of Events
27-Year Convention Industry Veteran Aims to Increase Customer Service Levels to NAMM’s Global Membership
NAMM, the International Music Products Association, recently announced that Patricia Lynch Martin joined the organization as its new director of events.
In her new role, Martin will be responsible for directing the Meetings & Events department, which handles everything from housing, promotions and discount opportunities for Members at trade shows to operations for NAMM's in-house meeting space, as well as auxiliary events sponsored by NAMM at outside facilities. Martin will also be researching the expansion of potential events in keeping with NAMM’s mission to unify, lead and strengthen the global music products industry.
Martin’s experience organizing and producing events in the trade show and convention industry totals 27 years—20 of those with The Freeman Companies, one of the largest convention contractors in the United States and Canada. Her involvement with NAMM trade shows dates back to 1975, when she worked at her first show, which took place at Chicago's McCormick Place.
“I am delighted to now be a ‘real’ part of the NAMM team and represent NAMM's high level of Member service,” said Martin. “As we look at current processes, we’re continually reassessing what we do and looking at how we can do it better.”
“I’m proud of the caliber of staff that NAMM has been able to attract, as evidenced by Pat,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO, NAMM. “Pat’s experience, intelligence and plain-old common sense will be a big benefit to our Members all over the world.”
