Music Hackspace, the MIDI Association, and NAMM have now closed the entries to the first MIDI Innovation Awards. The difficult process of selecting 10 finalists from 78 amazing entries - including hardware, software, and even installations based on MIDI - is now complete.

On Thursday, January 21 at 10:30 a.m., as part of NAMM's Believe in Music week, composer, conductor, lyricist, and creator of the Virtual Choir, Eric Whitacre, alongside ground-breaking singer-songwriter Imogen Heap, will take part in a special session - "The Golden Brick." In the session, Whitacre, who is one of the world's most performed composers, will share the creative process that he uses to create unforgettable compositions.

NAMM is pleased to announce that at Believe in Music week, multi-platinum, GRAMMY® award winners Garth Brooks and Melissa Etheridge will be the recipients of the organization's "Music for Life" award. TECnology Hall of Fame founder George Petersen and the NAMM TEC Committee have announced five defining audio products and innovations as the newest entrants to the prestigious TECnology Hall of Fame (TECHOF).
