A New Congregation of Customers Coming to Summer NAMM

Technologies for Worship Magazine to Produce Summer NAMM Sessions and Outreach to House of Worship Staff and Buyers

April 21, 2009

NAMM, the trade association for the international music products industry and Technologies for Worship magazine (TFWM) announced today a new partnership where TFWM will offer educational sessions and hands-on training in lighting, pro audio, integration of MI and other cutting-edge technologies to house of worship staff and personnel at this year’s Summer NAMM trade show in Nashville.

The sessions are designed to provide a forum for churches of all sizes and denominations to learn how they can maximize their current music technology, as well as their outreach potential.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Summer NAMM Members to meet with church tech teams from across North America and discuss how to integrate their products into the worship environment,” said Joe Lamond, NAMM President and CEO.

“Music is an integral part of modern worship, and NAMM is an essential resource for new products and industry developments for the worship market,” said Shelagh Rogers, president of Technologies for Worship Magazine. “We are extremely excited to be partnering with NAMM,”

The statistics on the size and growth of this market speak for themselves:

•    There are approximately 335,953 houses of worship in the U.S and more than 12,500 of them in the state of Tennessee alone.
•    80% of these houses of worship integrate video and live streaming content in their worship services and 62% use a large screen projection system
•    In 2006, houses of worship spent more than $7.7 billion on audio equipment
•    More than 93% of houses of worship use musical instruments as part of their worship services
