Leaving the conference room to take the stage, “Strat 5” from Healthways was crowned the national winner of the ninth annual FORTUNE Battle of the Corporate Bands presented by NAMM and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, on Oct. 3. The band competed against seven other corporate bands from across the country selected in regional semi-final events in Los Angeles and Nashville, Tenn.
The NAMM Foundation today announced that Dennis and Elizabeth Danzik of Paradise Valley Arizona were the winning bidders of a celebrity autographed guitar donated by Gov. Mike Huckabee as part of the recent launch of the foundation’s Wanna Play Fund on FOX’s “Huckabee” program.

This one-of-a-kind, national teen battle-of-the-bands competition is accepting applications from middle and high school students, aiming to showcase their talent and bolster much-needed support for school music programs.

The NAMM Foundation announced today that the deadline for submitting an application for a NAMM Foundation Music Products Industry Scholarship or President’s Innovation Award is Sept. 30, 2009. Up until that date, college students who are pursuing careers in the music products industry can submit their application at www.nammfoundation.org. Students may only apply for one program.
