Kurt Kaiser

Kurt Kaiser worked for Word Music beginning in 1959.  Not only did he witness many of the changes to church music, many credit him for creating what is now known as contemporary Christian music.  As an arranger and songwriter, Kurt worked with several leading church music artists, including Ethel Waters, George Beverly Shea, Tennessee Ernie Ford and Burl Ives.  While working on the play "Tell It Like It Is," a Christian based musical, Kurt penned the song "Pass It On."  The song was a stand-out hit and became a song for the younger generation within the church, leading many to focus portions of their church programs to contemporary music.  His other songs include "Deeper and Deeper," "Abide with Me," and "Oh How He Loves Me." In 2001, Kurt was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame!
