Ledward Kaapana

Ledward Kaapana grew up in Hawaii with his twin brother, surrounded by musical passion.  His parents, grandparents and several aunts and uncles played and sang, and Ledward can recall his excitement when he was asked to play along with the ukulele.  As he grew he played in several local bands and even created his own.  What he found to be unique was his style of playing Slack Key Guitar, which he learned from his family as a child.  He has since become closely associated with the style, which he has helped introduce to many players around the world.  In addition to his ukulele, Ledward plays his Martin Guitar in most of his concerts and recordings as well.
