Chris Stone
Chris Stone was one of the original founders of the famous Record Plant recording studios. With his background in finance, Chris was able to secure the funding that launched one of the most iconic studios in recording history. Starting the first Record Plant in New York, Chris and partner Gary Kellgren quickly expanded first to Los Angeles and then Sausalito. Along the way, Chris developed many innovative business strategies for keeping the business moving forward. While recording was taking off, Chris came up with unique approaches for maximizing business capital such as the leasing of equipment (e.g. microphones) and the bundling of services, such as studio time with housing/food options. Ever an innovative businessman, Chris helped to define an era in recording history.
