NAMM Musikmesse Russia and Prolight+Sound NAMM Russia Announce Music-Filled Forums, Professional Development, and Business Events
NAMM Musikmesse Russia, an international fair for musical instruments, sheet music, music production and music business connections, and Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia, an international fair of technologies and services for entertainment, integrated systems and creation will return to Moscow’s Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre, September 15-18, 2016. Now in its fifth year, the 2016 exhibition will mix visitor favorite events such as The Theatre Forum, Piano Days, and The Rental Companies Forum with several exciting new forums focused on percussion, orchestral, choral and jazz, supported by world-class musicians, visitor participation and an attempt at setting a Russian sound record. New forums for the 2016 exhibition include:
The Drummers United Festival: At Drummers United, visitors will be invited to participate in contests and master classes, to view drum school presentations, attend artist signings, and to enjoy the drumming community in this special forum to be held in a dedicated pavilion. The pavilion will also hold a large-scale drumming contest with notable acts vying for the top spot.
The Grand Band Show: At The Grand Band Show, attendees will experience master classes led by masters of the orchestral and instrumental genre, with performances by Russian and foreign orchestras, and a parade involving choreographed performance groups. Also at The Grand Band Show, the loudest brass orchestra in Russia will attempt to set a new sound record for the country, with participation from 26 different groups from Russia, Europe and the CIS taking part in the contest.
ChoirExpo: Choir masters, composers, choir members, heads of ministries for culture, concert companies, educational institutions and choir art lovers can now participate in a specialized exhibition of choir-related achievements at ChoirExpo. The program will include career-advancing courses for teachers, methodical seminars, master classes and lectures from leading Russian and European specialists, along with various conferences, presentations, and roundtable discussions focused on choirs and concerts. ChoirExpo will also host an international contest of choirs and vocal ensembles.
The Jazz Forum: In the first of its kind for the show, The Jazz Forum will consist of a series of events specifically designed for art directors of jazz clubs/centers, leaders of large-scale jazz festivals/jazz bands, musicians and jazz teachers. The schedule will include panel discussions on relevant topics, including Russian jazz, and showcases, concerts and master classes led by popular jazz performers. Key presenters will include recognized jazz masters Anatoliy Kroll, Alexander Oseychuk, and Igor Butman.
In addition to the great music forums, NAMM Musikmesse Russia will offer educational sessions for both dealers and music educators through NAMM U. NAMM U will present a track of educational sessions for music shop owners and staff, focused on management best practices. For music educators, the Pedagogy Festival of Contemporary Music Education will share the latest technologies in teaching.
Music fans attending the show will enjoy live music throughout the event on four themed stages: the Live Music Stage, an open air stage for large concerts, festivals and contest finals; the Acoustic Stage, located inside pavilion 7A with acoustic performances from music masters and their master classes, as well as the children’s music contest finals; the Drum Stage in pavilion 3 where popular drummers will perform and hold master classes; and the Megapolis Stage, hosted by Megapolis radio featuring the best tracks of electronic music from globally recognized DJs and music labels.
Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia: In addition to NAMM Musikmesse Russia, Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia will host a variety of industry forums focused on key segments of the lighting and sound industries, including:
The Theatre Forum: Featuring the best in theater equipment, technologies, materials and props for stage and show, this forum will offer presentations of equipment and accessories from the world’s top manufacturers and theater equipment distributors. The schedule will include various conferences and seminars for theater directors on the topics of reconstruction and restoration, procurement, and contemporary equipment. A series of special excursions to the production complex of The State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia and to the Moscow Music Theatre Gelicon-opera will be organized for visitors.
Forum ONStage: The OnStage forum is dedicated to the technical features of domestic and international productions. This year’s forum will take the theme of “Future Emotions” and will look to trends in the industry, now and in the future, and prepare attendees to be at the forefront of the latest technologies. The forum will include participation from foreign specialists of leading production companies to share their experiences and the secrets of the trade.
The Rental Companies Forum: Organized in collaboration with the Russian Association of Rental Companies (ACTOM), the track will include roundtable discussions on business best practices and rentals in Russia.
Other notable events include the V Light Art Contest hosted by Martin Pro, and The Student Conference. Attendees of the V Light Art Contest will be entertained by this unique lighting show designed by professional and amateur artists. The Student Conference will gather students from technical and theater arts universities, technical specialists, equipment manufacturers, and leading event industry experts. A career fair and a discussion about the industry will take place during the event.
Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia will host two stages during the show. The first stage will host concert sound demonstrations to illustrate the abilities of concert equipment, such as line arrays and acoustic systems made by various world manufacturer brands, including DAS Audio, VUE Audiotechnik, Lorenz, RCF, Coda Audio and others. The second stage, the Euroshow Stage will provide a platform for a special light and music show, demonstrating various technical achievements and industry novelties, hosted by the show’s technical partner, Euroshow.
