James Singleton
James Singleton was born in Chicago and took to playing bass at an early age. After performing in the Chicago area and briefly attending the University of North Texas, James was called to New Orleans to perform with Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown. As he cut his teeth further with Brown, James became a highly demanded side man, performing with local pianists James Booker (The Bayou Maharajah) and Ellis Marsalis. His performance credits read like a who's who of jazz musicians and his band, Astral Project, has won a Down Beat award for Best Modern Jazz Album. James' outlook on music and the musical world is truly unique and entertaining.
